Stasis ulcer treatment

Can anyone help me..... I have only been a treatment nurse for a few months, a doctor ordered unna boots and the resident had edema and a skin tear on the left leg. During the time the unna was in place a very large stasis developed!!!!!!! I am using silver ca alg and wrap everyday. Any suggestions please!?!?
