hello cindy. i have been an lpn for a bout a year and a half and i am very interested in wound care. i have always wanted to specialize in wound care. however, i really do not have any wound care experience. is it nessassary/ required to have experience in wound care before becoming wound care certified? are there any clinicals involved with wound care certification?

Hi Cindy,

The wound certification examination provided by the American Academy of Wound Management is offered in Canada. We have several Canadians who are taking our course at the current time.

Hi Gloria,

When you complete the course, you will take the course exam online in order to earn your continuing education credits. However, you will need to go to a testing location to sit for your national wound certification exam.
